Tickets are booked

Well... we are committed now.  The other night, Gail and I sat on the phone (me in UT, her in AZ) and booked our tickets.  It literally took us hours as we weighed the pros and cons of ... this flight, that flight, etc.  Finally, when we were 100% sure, we got out our handy-dandy charge cards and purchased our flights.  We were excited and scared to death - all at the same time.  As we moved from screen to screen, we confirmed, reconfirmed, and triple confirmed that we were booking the same flight.  In the end... all went well and the purchase was made.  BREATHE.

So, with the click of the button... we were on our way.

Now the fun begins.  We now know where we are going.  When we will be there.  And where we are staying (well for at least 11 of our nights).  In the next few months, we will narrow down what attractions to see, our modest budget, and how to pack light.  I think packing light will be the biggest challenge of all.

Kristin and Gail hiking in Phoenix

Posted by Picasa

Very special day!!

On Friday, I had the privilege of meeting up and spending time with French-Word-A-Day blogger, Kristin Espinasse. Kristin lives in the south of France with her husband & two children.

I began subscribing to Kristin's blog a little over a year ago. At the time, I was just content to receive her blog news and try to pronounce a few words. Then one day.... she mentioned Phoenix. It was then I realized she was from Arizona! Not long after that...she announced she would be in Phoenix and setting up a "meet up & hike"! To say I was excited is really an understatement.

Kristin is just like she is on her blog. Absolutely delightful and genuine! Here we are with her autographing her book for me.

I don't believe in "coincidence"... I believe in God-incidence or as Gillian calls it a "God-wink"!! :-D Because only He could caused this new friendship to come about.

I look forward to being able to see Kristin again when Gillian & I are in France!
